Go Into All the World…

Go Into All the World…

…and proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation.

Mark 16:15

For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
    my soul knows it very well.
 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
    intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
    the days that were formed for me,
    when as yet there was none of them.

Psalm 139: 13-16

God delights in all of His creation. He made no mistakes in forming each of us.

Yet we all have sinned, and live in a sinful world.

We all struggle, or will struggle, with some form of disability in our lives.

And we all have need of a Savior.

That is the basis for Gloria Dei’s new outreach to Mountain Shadows, a residential program for people living with intellectual disabilities. Mountain Shadows is located nearby off of El Norte Parkway in Escondido. Every month, Pastor and a couple volunteers are spending an hour or so with residents of Mountain Shadows to talk about Jesus and to get to know each other better. We were also blessed to have some of the residents come visit our recent church picnic at Rod McLeod Park.
